The Management of our Institution shall support and Partner with your Council: EKSU Vice -Chancellor assures the Leadership of NYCN Ekiti State Chapter.

The Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Ekiti State Chapter under the Chairmanship of Comrade James Oluwasegun BANKOLE met with the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti STATE University Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday to strategize on the possible ways forward.

The strategic meeting which was held in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor had in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, the Acting Registrar of the Institution, the representative of the Bursar, the University Librarian, the State Executive Officers of the Youth Council and some other officers of the Institution.

The Chairman of the Youth Council who spoke through the Vice Chairman (Central Senatorial District): Comrade Surajudeen Opeyemi MUSA appreciated the Vice-Chancellor of the University: Prof. Edward Olorunsola OLANIPEKUN for his diplomatic ways of managing the affairs of the Institution in the face of the security and financial challenges. Comrade Musa presented the concerns of the Council regarding the internal strike of the Non Academic Staff Union of the Institution, Partial resumption of some lecturers, delay in issueing of transcripts to graduates and double taxation and double payment by students.

In his response, Prof. Eddy OLANIPEKUN appreciated the Leadership of the Youth Council for their concern and maturity. He affirmed that all the matters raised by the leadership of the Youth Council are facts and he apologized for whatever inconveniences the delay in transcripts and double payment might have caused the graduates and the Students of the Institution. 

He asked the Leadership of the Council to compile the list of the graduates who are in urgent need of their transcripts and get back to him for immediate response. In a way to reduce the traffic, Prof. Eddy Olanipekun affirmed that the Management of the Institution has began a process by which a separate unit shall be for the signing and collection of transcripts in a way that each department shall have their Officers.

On double taxation or double payment, the Vice-Chancellor said the Management of the Institution cannot double tax her Students and graduates. However, if anyone had pay twice on same thing or to a wrong account of the Institution; the person(s) should present the hardcopies of their evidence of payment and submit them through the Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Ekiti State Chapter for verification and possible refund if necessary.

On the internal strike of the Non Academic Staff Union and partial resumption of some lecturers, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated some of the Staff that have be coming around with Five (5) Months unpaid salaries, Eight (8) Months subventions among other financial commitment to be made by the Government to the Institution. The Vice-Chancellor appealed to the State Government to respond to the yearnning of the Academic and Non Academic Staff of the Institution.

On the Professionals among the members of the Council, the Vice-Chancellor assures the Leadership of the Council that the Management of the Institution shall make use of them as consultants when necessary. "You have started well, Ekiti State University shall support you, partner with your Council and make your Administration impactful" the Vice Chancellor assured the Leadership of the Council. 

In response, the Leadership of the Youth Council promised the Vice-Chancellor that the Council shall see how to approach the State Government on the matters affected in earnest.
